About the Role
In this role, you will be part of the central IT team of an investment management company and support both the internal organisation and selected portfolio companies in improving, securing, and professionalising their IT environments. You will act as a trusted IT advisor and hands-on IT specialist, supporting IT projects, security improvements, and the development of more mature, scalable, and professionally managed IT organizations. This high-impact role is well suited to an IT professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to improve IT maturity working across multiple different business environments. You will combine advisory skills with practical IT engineering working independently while collaborating closely with the IT Director and relevant stakeholders within the portfolio companies. This role offers exposure to different industries, technical landscapes, and organizational maturity levels, making it ideal for someone who wants to create visible impact and help professionalize and build IT beyond a single-company environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage on-site and cloud (Azure) infrastructure: Microsoft 365, Azure services, local networks, Windows servers, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity worldwide.
- Provide expert support by troubleshooting and resolving complex network, hardware, and software issues.
- Drive IT projects including server deployments, network upgrades, data and tenant migrations, and IT infrastructure improvements.
- Manage Azure cloud services and support each company with the right cloud tools and guidance.
- Design, configure, and support networking and on-site infrastructure while coordinating with local teams and external experts.
- Ensure IT security and compliance by managing backups, disaster recovery, system updates, and GDPR/NIS2 requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to procure, implement, and support technology solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of experience in IT system engineering with expertise in Windows Server, Azure, networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN), Microsoft 365, AD/Entra ID, Intune, and backup & recovery.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, compliance frameworks, and IT security policies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and manage vendors effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is not required.
- Living in the Netherlands.
